Formerly Lloyds Bank Chambers and now in use as a nightclub. John Newhouse, set up J. Newhouse Ltd as a department store at this site which opened in 1890. Following his death in 1911 the business was taken over by his sons and relocated to the corner of Linthorpe and Corporation Road.
